Piermont firefighters and EMS and Nyack firefighters were operating at the end of the pier while a Rockland County sheriff's Marine Unit towed the single-engine craft to shore, police said.

The plane made the "controlled" water landing around 5 p.m. and was pulled from the water a little over two hours later, they said.
